THE PERSON BEHIND THE PIXELS

Hey. I’m Alex.

ONE PERSON.
MANY HATS.
Always building something.
MEET THE HUMAN

ONE PERSON.
THE WHOLE
PRODUCTION.

Hey, I’m Alex. The developer, designer, problem-solver, and person behind Dinks Gaming.

I’ve spent more than ten years making websites and working in digital marketing. In my free time, I turn the ideas I can’t stop thinking about into games you can actually play.

From the first concept to the final details, I love bringing the whole thing together. That same curiosity finds its way into custom websites and automations, too.

A little more about me
BEFORE THE PORTFOLIO

A computer at nine.
A doorway into other worlds.

I saved up to buy my own computer when I was nine, and computers have been part of my life ever since. I’ve always enjoyed fantasy: the chance to step away from everyday reality and spend a little time somewhere different.

That’s a personal part of the story behind Dinks Gaming. The games in this portfolio offer different kinds of worlds to enter, from a fast multiplayer arena to a quiet fishing project or an isolated lighthouse.

MORE THAN A DECADE ONLINE

You think of it.
I can build it.

I’ve spent more than ten years making websites and working in digital marketing. As AI tools have advanced, the range of things I can build online has grown with them. I enjoy taking an idea, working through what it needs, and turning it into something people can use.

That ambition comes with a practical conversation about the goal and scope. Whether it’s a custom website, an automation feature, or an interactive experience, bring the idea and we can work through how to make it happen.

MARKETING MIND. DEVELOPER CURIOSITY.

A creative practice
with more than one outlet.

I’m Alex Koch, the independent developer behind Dinks Gaming. I work full time in digital marketing, and game development is my free-time creative work. The portfolio brings those interests together with custom websites and automation features, giving each project a place to show what it does and who it is for.

That range is visible in the work itself. A multiplayer game needs to communicate an objective while people are moving. A website needs to help a visitor understand an offer and choose a next step. An automation needs to carry information between actions without losing the context that makes it useful. Each project has a different audience, but interaction and clear communication connect them.

Digital marketing

I work full time in digital marketing, with more than ten years of website and marketing experience. That background sits alongside the portfolio’s attention to presentation, discoverability, and the path from interest to action.

Independent games

Dinks Gaming spans Roblox, Android, and a PC horror project, with experiences ranging from fast competition to quieter fishing and atmospheric exploration.

Custom websites

The web portfolio includes a gaming community leaderboard, an immersive event website, and a local professional directory. Each has its own practical visitor journey.

Automation features

Automation work focuses on useful connections between repeated tasks, website actions, and the information a person needs to handle the next step.

From the idea
to the finished project.

I handle the work from start to finish. The tools depend on the platform: Roblox Studio for Roblox work, Unity for PC and Android development, and Blender for creating models. Game systems, presentation, and the practical work of bringing the pieces together all belong to the same process.

One developer.
A range of worlds.

The Roblox projects are associated with the BigDinkles account and the Dinks Gaming community. The collection includes seven public experiences, each with a different premise rather than a single genre repeated across several titles.

Mystery, horror, and competition

Cursed Fishing combines fishing with unusual species, research, collections, contracts, and lake events. Lab 9 explores sound-aware horror and escape, with solo play or a group of up to four. Tag Frenzy puts movement and multiplayer competition at the center, including Infection and Crown Control.

Movement, growth, and shared encounters

Wild Peaks brings snowboarding, combos, riders, and challenges into the collection. Dino Devour is built around eating, growing, and surviving. Slayer: Gemstone Crab centers a shared boss and several combat approaches. Vaultbreakers, currently playable in alpha, explores dungeon runs, gear, spells, bosses, and a Heat risk-and-reward system.

These pages show the projects through actual artwork, direct platform links, and trailers where available. They also keep release status visible, so exploring the work does not require guessing which experiences are playable and which are still developing.

Beyond Roblox:
small moments and darker places.

Balloon Pop – Pop Frenzy is the published Android project, built around popping balloons before they escape and chasing another score. The website includes a separate small balloon challenge inspired by it, with a direct route to the full Android game.

Chill Cast – Cozy Fishing is another Android project, approaching completion and currently in development. Its place in the portfolio introduces the project without inventing a store listing or release date.

Lighthouse Keeper takes a different direction: first-person atmospheric horror at Cape Mourn in 1971. Its premise follows a relief keeper arriving after the disappearance of Elias Vane, with storm isolation and a light that holds something in the water back. The game has a dedicated official website and is now available as a Windows download on TinyDinkler.

Web work with
a practical purpose.

My custom websites extend the portfolio beyond games. Gemstone Crab KC supports an Old School RuneScape community through a kill-count leaderboard, submission, and verification journey. I’ve enjoyed Old School RuneScape, and wanted a public place to recognize the players putting in those Gemstone Crab kills. That led me to build a fan-made kill-count leaderboard: a place to show the true crab slayers in OSRS. It connects a community idea to a structured record people can explore.

Hills of Unrest is a website for a Halloween yard display in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Real photographs, films, atmosphere, and visitor guidance give it both a narrative and a practical role. The project connects an atmospheric presentation with a useful visitor journey.

Mold Inspectors Near Me is a local professional directory and referral website. Its web journey organizes discovery and enquiries, with clear routes between local information and the next step.

The websites and automation page brings these examples together with their real screenshots. It is a starting point for discussing a site that needs a clearer visitor journey, a distinctive visual identity, or useful connections between repeated tasks.

Explore the thinking
behind the work.

The article library goes deeper into specific design and planning questions. It includes finishable scope for solo games, useful playtest feedback, preparing a website brief, and planning an enquiry workflow. The guides connect to portfolio examples while distinguishing confirmed project details from general recommendations.

For a new project, the useful starting point is what you want people to do, what you already have, and where the current process becomes difficult. A website idea, an automation question, or a conversation about the games can begin through the same public contact route.
